I’ve always loved to cook. One of the first things I remember being “allowed” to cook was..drum roll… scrambled eggs – in the microwave – yuck! However, not much later in life my mother encouraged me in the kitchen. My best friend from across the street, Meredith, would often join me as I pulled the bar-stools over to the stove so I could reach. We created many things, some great, some good, some hopefully never to be repeated again. The best part was just being creative. I never did use a recipe. Still don’t. Pasta was my go to back then. I still love it the most, but my body on the other hand wants me to cut out the gluten. Say what?!
Anyway – after a big move away from family and friends last year, I needed something to fill the empty space and time. I started posting pictures and descriptions of my cooking. I have had enough people asking for my “recipes” that I have decided to give this a go.
Upfront Disclaimer: I am terrible at recipes. I don’t measure. The majority of my cooking involves fresh, whole, organic foods. I don’t like to add salt or sugar to anything – not saying never. There is hardly anything processed in my kitchen. I promise you can do that affordably! I also love to garden so a lot of what I cook comes out of a labor of love in my back yard.
